The Kathrein Group is led by an experienced and competent team, both in Germany and the United States. In Germany, four adept experts stand shoulder to shoulder with the company’s CEO and Managing Partner, Anton Kathrein: Frank Ullmann, Joe Doering, and Markus Pflitsch. In America, Jim Nevelle and Ron Zielke lead Kathrein USA. With an eye on high-level market dynamics, constantly changing customer requirements and formidable challenges as a result of technological change, management set the course of the company. The top objective is to be a pioneer and set the pace in the field of communication technology.

Anton Kathrein

Chief Executive Officer, Germany

Following his studies of electrical engineering at Karlsruhe University, Anton Kathrein joined the company as an engineer on 1 September 2012. But a few weeks later, after the unexpected death of his father, Prof. Anton Kathrein, he took on entrepreneurial responsibility for KATHREIN-Werke KG and the Kathrein Group. As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner Anton Kathrein leads the family business with sense of responsibility, foresight, prudence and sense for the employees into the future. He maintains the strengths of the company, which are steeped in tradition: Innovative strength, perseverance and independence. Anton Kathrein is responsible for Group Strategy, Technology Management and HR.

Joe Doering

Chief Markets Officer, Germany

Following an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, Joe Doering studied Industrial Engineering at the Technical University in Berlin and Marketing, International Management and Finance at the University of California. He worked more than ten years in various positions of responsibility at Siemens AG, including Head of Strategy at Siemens Communications as well as Head of Central Sales at the Siemens land-line unit ICN. In 2007 Joe Doering transferred to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), where he expanded business in regional markets. Prior to joining Kathrein as Chief Markets Officer in early 2015, he was on the board of directors at Swisslog AG. Joe Doering is responsible for Sales and Marketing.

Frank Ullmann

Chief Operating Officer, Germany

Frank Ullmann began his professional career with training as a banker and then studied Business Administration. First as a consultant and later with several companies, he led various projects whose focus included workflow and structural organisation, optimisation of the value chain and realignment of sales/distribution structures. In 2002 he joined KATHREIN-Werke KG, and has held the position of Chief Operating Officer in Kathrein’s management since 2012. Frank Ullmann is responsible for Operations and IMS (Integrated Management System).

Markus Pflitsch

Markus Pflitsch

Chief Financial Officer, Germany

Markus Pflitsch began his professional career at the international management consultancy of The Boston Consulting Group. Subsequently he assumed positions of responsibility at Deutsche Bank and HypoVereinsbank, before continuing his career at the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg. There Markus Pflitsch lead the Group Development Department for several years, after that he was responsible for the restructuring of LBBW Immobilien GmbH in his position as Chairman of the Executive Management. After a further post on the board of directors and CFO at the Munich based communications agency Avantgarde, he joined the Kathrein Group end of 2016. Markus Pflitsch is responsible for Finance, IT and Facility Management.

Ron Zielke

Chief Financial Officer, Kathrein USA

Ron Zielke joined Kathrein in 1999 and is the current Chief Financial Officer of Kathrein USA. Mr. Zielke brings over 30 years of experience to Kathrein USA and is responsible for all finance, accounting, and information systems. Prior to his current position, Mr. Zielke held a number of management positions for Harry & David and was a financial analyst at Intel and Avia Group International. Mr. Zielke received his formal education at Cascade College earning a BS Degree in Accounting. He is also a CPA and belongs to the American Institute of CPA’s.

Jim Nevelle

Jim Nevelle

President & CEO, Kathrein USA

Prior to joining Kathrein USA, Jim co-founded Sorrento Networks and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Nevelle has also held management positions at Verso Technologies, Verilink Corporation, and XEL Communications. He is co-author of four U.S. patents pertaining to broadband architectures and deployments and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and a Master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of Denver.
