Kathrein Shortlisted for Small Cell Forum Award

Kathrein nominated for SCF 2017 AwardKathrein’s Street Connect Antenna Solution™, a revolutionary in-ground small cell antenna, made the shortlist for the Small Cell Forum Industry Awards in the category “Excellence in Commercial Deployment of a Dense HetNet.”

Kathrein Street Connect™  is a “game changer” in antenna innovation – traditionally RF engineers have tried to direct the RF signal down from a macro and small cell angle.  Now, this solution provides a tool to direct the signal up and out.  Ideal for places such as Times Square, where it has been difficult to provide coverage due to the lay out and height of the buildings and city ordinances.  It also removes all opex issues with site acquisition – one of the biggest headaches for mobile operators.

The SCF Awards are open to members and non members alike, with entries welcome from across the entire ecosystem. Now in their ninth year, the Small Cell Industry Awards are a recognized badge of excellence and innovation. A panel of impartial judges – comprised of analysts, journalists and industry experts – ensure the independence and quality of the awards.

The winners will be announced as part of the evening reception at the Small Cells World Summit on Tuesday 23 May 2017 at the Intercontinental O2 Hotel.
